The only disadvantages is that it is in the color of stainless steel and therefore will be visible outside, so it can not be the treatment choice for the "look conscious" patients.

2. For the look conscious patient two tooth colored crown options are available
   1. Metal fused to ceramic crowns wherein an inner layer of the metal is provided for strength and surface is coated with tooth colored ceramic material. These crowns can help in chewing as well as esthetics.

   3. The only disadvantage of a metal ceramic crown is that it requires extensive cutting of the root canal treated teeth in order to makeup for the thickness of metal and ceramic material.

   2. The second option for the look conscious patient is the metal free ceramic crown. These crowns have the advantage of being the best as far as aesthetics is concerned. They are very much tooth like and are a boon for root canal treated front teeth.
